Dont know if people are aware of this, but today while being messed about by Santander on the phone, being told to go to my branch and my branch telling me i need to phone up, i was credited £15 after complaining

Just thought id share this if anyone has the same sort of issue.

Pretty standard practice to be honest these days. If you've genuinely been passed from pillar to post, fobbed off, messed around for something that could have been done at the initial point of contact then you'll be recompensed. Standard complaint procedures within banking.

Standard these days, if you have honestly been passed from pillar to post, banks will recompense you for inconvenience they have caused.

They gave me £40 for much the same thing, ironically after the branch accused me of being a compensation chaser who wouldn't get anything (I'd not mentioned a request for any kind of compensation in my complaint, or indeed at all. The staff pulled that one directly out of their a*ses.)

Santander really are the pits.
