Out of curiosity really (as i can turn off the message if I want but have not done so yet). I got a new computer and 80% or so of web pages that I view including all of the moneysavingexpert ones pop up the message box from internet explorer starting "Problems with this web page might prevent it being displayed properly......." and ending with a box I can un tick to stop the message being displayed in future. As far as I can tell the web page alluded to is fine. So anyone know what thats all about?

In order to display a web page, a browser basically follows a script contained within that web page, telling it how to display text, pictures etc.
For some unknown reason, Microsoft supply their web browser with the option to test the validity of that script tuned on by default. The script checking facility is really designed for web developers, not users, and can be safely disabled.
The error-checking that is performed will often flag up trivial errors that, as you have found, make no difference to the way that the page is displayed. it also checks for compliance with the Microsoft standard for the web, which is different from the internationally-defined standards.... but that is a whole other debate
