Just had a call from Vanquis, been approved for a credit card. I know it obviously varies but what sort of credit limits do they start ex bankrupts on?

I think mine was £750.0

Mine was £250.....think that's pretty much the norm IIRC from previous threads.“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0

I had a letter from Vanquis a couple of weeks after discharge saying I'd been pre-approved. I just thought it was an error and thought there's no way I'd be approved being newly discharged.0

Mine was £250 but is now up to £3000 and they have just changed my card to a gold one!!!:pB&SC No. 298

Same here....except my limit is "only" £2500.
Slight downside is that the gold card says "Vanquis Bank" on it whereas my previous design had no branding other than Visa.“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0 -
I applied the other day and when telephoned back was told I had been accepted. :j
Just out of curiosity, as well as limits - what APR are people being offered? It says typically 39% average on their website. I don't know what my limit will be yet, but I was told the APR was 59.9% so there's nothing other than grocery shopping it will be used for and then paid straight off again.
Plus I got the hard sell on PPI but said no.
I opted to pay the balance minimum by Direct Debit and when I did, I got offered £100 loan straight into my bank account, which I declined.0 -
I started on 59.9% and I'm still on the same.
Declined all kind offers in the original phone call.
You need to make sure that you pay the full balance every month as well....as in if you owe £501.36 you must pay £501.36 and not £500!
Because...in the "small print"
"** Estimated interest is the amount you will pay next month if you don't pay off your current balance in full."“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0 -
Next week I mark 5 years since my BR and I haven't yet applied for a credit card - have been thinking of applying recently though.

If you have made it this long i'd hold out. Its my plan once I've gone BR and been discharged that I will never rely on credit again for anything!
Not even for a mortgage.0
