esa - support group

Options
Hi,
I had my tribunal for esa on Feb 18 and was placed in the support group.

However, I have heard nothing to confirm this from the dwp (although I was given a letter at the tribunal saying I'd been placed in the support group).

Should I have received any confirmation from the dwp and if so is it normal to still be waiting over a month later.

I'm concerned because the only letter I have received was a few days after the tribunal which stated that as I was in the wrag group and it's contributions based, then as of Oct 2013 it would stop.

I assumed that this was just a letter already in the system which arrived just after I had the esa tribunal.

Should I be doing anything to chase confirmation up?

ATOS is not involved in processing a tribunal result, usually.
It will be solely tribunal service to DWP.

Have you recieved your increased money and backpay yet? if not, you can speed this up by sending a copy of the tribunal letter to the DWP office dealing with your claim.

    Hi,
I posted a letter a while ago stating I had my tribunal for esa during Feb and was placed in the support group.

I still haven't chased up why I've not received anything from the dwp. I did say that I had a letter given to me at the tribunal stating I won the appeal.

I was advised to chase it up and I keep meaning to, but I've been overwhelmed with recent events (dad been in hosp since Jan).

I specifically wanted to ask: has anyone else gone to tribunal and won, and then later had a letter from dwp or does it just go through automatically? I can't phone as I only have a mobile and haven't had time to go to the local office and use their phone. I shall have to write at some point, but I just wondered if anyone else has received confirmation or not after winning an appeal.

Yes about £5 a week extra - Wow, an extra packet of 10 ciggies and a bar of chocolate a week.

    You do.
It may be as little as a fiver or so a week.
It may be very considerably more, if it makes you entitled to various other elements.

Yes, because that's what the disabled amongst us do with the meagre extra cash isn't it Andy? We really don't need this money do we, we're disabled afterall, perhaps all disabled people should be shoved into an institution somewhere? Oh wait, doesn't it cost a ridiculous figure to keep people in prisons?

I personally (as I'm sure many of the non-Andy's do) use what money I get to try and live my life to as full as an extent as I can. This is a mere fraction of what I would be doing if I weren't a whole right leg amputee and if I could have that leg back and reclaim the pursuits I used to enjoy I would gladly pay it back x10! Indeed my right arm is in a cast after breaking both bones at the wrist after slipping on ice on the crutches going out to the car.

Still, the extra £5 will buy me some cigs to get me through the times when I would normally be earning a high wage in the job I can no longer do and missing the exotic trips abroad I used to enjoy eh? Hell, even Alton Towers is a military operation now!

I doubt anyone here wants to be disabled regardless of ANY monetary benefits. I know I'm totally wasting my time here because you'll just start yet another account but regardless of whoever's done you wrong with your benefits you should try spending your energy on them and not the posters here.

Edit: Oh and before I'm done, don't try making out that you were poking fun at the meagre £5 addition for the support group, I know what you was getting at!
