Not too sure 2012 figures yet, but 2011 and 2010 was LBG0

Nationwide reckon it is dominating net new lending, from what one of its Regional Managers told me a few months ago.I am a mortgage broker. LBG 2011 £28bn Nationwide (4th) £17.1bn
LBG 2010 £30bn Nationwide (5th) £12.2bn
Not too sure Nationwide would have pushed forward that much, but may indeed be ahead of targets for 20130 -
It was in a FLS presentation, where Nationwide reckoned they are practically single-handed doing all the new net lending. Pity I haven't got a copy of the presentation. It was very interesting.
There's a press release here, along similar lines;-

Looks like I've mixed up gross and net.
It shows net on the BoE link in the press release, with Barclays top.I am a mortgage broker. Not doubt they have pushed forward but must be a limit to how far they can go still being a Building Society. I expect them to calm down in Q2 & Q3 and then another push Q4.0

Lloyds, Santander and RBS all lent less in Q4 2012 than a year previously. That's at gross level.0

NW have already expressed concern that new capital requirements will force them to contract their lending book.0
