I had an ATOS medical back in November, and was put into support group cont based esa.

I was sent another questionnaire last week, which I sent back as of today.

As none of my conditions have changed since my last assessment, should I keep support group status?

    Thanks.
  • May I ask how long you had to wait after sending in the form before you heard about the assessment? My relative gets higher rate DLA and ESA support group. I got the ATOS form which I completed and sent back yesterday. I am dreading them asking him to attend for interview even though I specified that he can't attend and they are welcome to visit him any day.

Some are reporting delays of several months in hearing back after sending in the ESA50. It all depends on area though, your relative may hear back earlier. In the meantime, if he sees his GP it would be worth asking if he could write a brief letter stating the assessment will need to be at his home, and the reasons why.

Some of the support group criteria changed in January, so this may have an impact on your claim. I think there is a thread on the Disability board that gives more details.

    .

If you get a decisionmaker that views your claim in the same way, and they are presented with a similar assessment of your case from ATOS.

There is no real way to tell if it's likely unless you are clearly qualified - for example if you cannot walk or use a manual wheelchair.

They must make a special exception for you then, given that most people have to wait weeks for a decision.

Good luck in your search for employment.

The sudden deterioration in your standard of English is intriguing. I take it your condition is variable?

If you've not heard anything within a few weeks, you can always call ATOS and ask them. I done that as I was concerned that my ESA50 had gone astray. They told me that they wouldn't need to reassess me and had sent my ESA50 and previous assessment back to the DWP.
