Does it work? Do they get a lot of bids? Round my way everyone tries to get a discount.

It seems to work, obviously some people put real tat on or really overprice items. But if you put on a fair price things seem to sell.
I put an item on for £3 one day & it sold for the £3 Another day later in the week I put the identical item on (I had 2) and started it at £3 again but it sold for £10! I would have been happy with £3.
It all depends whos looking & how busy the page is as items can get lost if its too busy. There are quite a few rules such as no clothing or shoes but other than that its pretty good.

Got £3 to add from a FB sale.

Also sold quite a bit on the bay doing the list for 1 day when it's FLW trick. Then relist anything that doesn't sell on the Sunday for 7 days. That way your wares are high up the listings straight away so more people see it. Very good tip I got from the "!!!!!! make me rich eBay" thread.

Will add ebay amount once I've been to the PO.

Keep pushing on folks - 2 days to go! :-))

Oooh and just spotted £9 has gone into Paypal from one of these web monitor things I've installed. If only all money was that easy to make!

    What a weekend!

Friday night I got home to find that my previous employer had responded to the tribunal case. The things he said were insane, my favourite being that 'emmaglet didn't tell us she had an eBay business, as per section X of the company handbook and we believe this is what made her stressed, not us'. Um...firstly HE came to me TWICE to ask me to sell something on eBay for him, and it was in the company newsletter that I was doing this. But it made me really angry to read all the things they'd said about me.

Saturday morning I received a cheque for £110 for typing I did for an elderly lady. Saturday I also managed to catch up on sleep, washing and generally not feel so insanely busy and stressed. I also worked out how close we are to having all the money together to pay for the rest of the Florida trip - theme park tickets, etc. Unless something major crops up we WILL make that in May so that's great. I then relisted everything on eBay and listed a few new bits, not as many as I would have liked though.

Then Sunday we went to a bootsale - I bribed my Dad with a roast dinner in return for him bringing his car full of stuff as well. The day was lovely with steady sales - this was more 'upmarket' than other bootsales and no one quibbled at things being priced over 50p as they normally do at another one we do. The best part? My old manager was there and when I told him about the work tribunal he agreed to write a statement of facts for me - it just so happens that the statement of facts IS how I remember things (because that's what happened) and not how my previous employer does. When we got home we realised we had made £120.08!!! It isn't going directly to this challenge but rather the kittens' vets fees, but I'm happy!

We were so tired yesterday afternoon though (we had SIX car boot tables and loads of floor space so it was hard work keeping an eye on it all) and I managed to make some lunch, write a few blog posts and that's it!

I was going to have a break in May but I feel so close and so motivated that I want to continue!

Now to catch up with the posts on this thread and see how everyone else has been doing!

  • A few more squids to add to the final tally for this month - £12.60 from eb-y sales, and £5.00 from a Gumtree sale, which is all good!:T

AND.. am trying Collect+ for the first time (with thanks for all the tips of courier companies). Even with 'signed-for' delivery it's still four pounds cheaper than RM!!! and the local drop-shop is just as close as the Post Office is, besides being open 6am - 11pm. :j

Finally got assessed by Textbroker last week, and must admit my pride took a serious fall when I saw I was only rated as 2* by them  But....I took the mini-travel blog that I'd written for them, expanded on it, and have just sold it privately which will give me about £7.00 when I get paid in a few days. Ha! That's a poke in the eye for Textbroker..if they don't want me, someone else will :rotfl: (and restores my confidence in my writing a bit, too!)
