I have Sky Plus and am looking to cancel. If I do this and then when we move we start again but just have a Sky contract. Will my Sky Plus box still work?

I am trying to get around paying the £10 surcharge for using the box without having premium chanels. ;)

Thanks.

I cancelled my sky package before christmas and my sky plus was cancelled alongside the tv package. I did hear that some people still had their sky plus, as they made sure they didnt have their phone line plugged in (mine still doesnt work, with or without the phone line).
I also heard that they were going to make the sky plus facility free, but again, if they have, it hasnt come down to my machine!!!

I dont have my phone line plugged into it anyway. I thought they may just zap it somehow. Thanks for that.

They send the viewing authorisation over the air and don't use the phone line.

There's no workaround for the £10 a month recording facility fee. Also, the instant you cancel, you lose all your recordings. They won't play back unless you've copied them onto DVD.

Sky will give you ONLY the recording facility at £10 a month but only if you have a contract. If you cancel and THEN ask for the £10 a month to be reinstated, they can't do it.
