Drawn logo - how to actually use it!

Hi all
I am in the process of setting up a homemade toiletries business but am very new to it and stuck already!
I have designed a logo that I want to use on the website and on business cards and labels but don't know how to actually get the drawing on to the computer from the drawing paper so I can upload it to a company for printing.
Also I might want to slightly edit the writing. The drawing is good but the block style writing (company name) could do with neatening up.
Any ideas what to do? Is there a free software? I'm on a budget so really can't afford a graphic designer.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks.

scan it onto your computer and then order a logo design fiverr gig, so long as your clear with what you want they should do all the work for you
for the sake of $5 it really is the best option0 -
I would second fiverr.
Just make sure you tell them exactly what you want and that it is to be used on printed media, so needs a good dpi.0 -
Great thanks guys. What a brilliant site! Lets see what the designer comes back with.0

You need to ask for the logo to be created in a vector format. This allows it to be perfectly enlarged and shrunk without any loss in quality0

If you are good with computers, or are wiling to learn ...
Download the free program Inkscape.
As mentioned above, your logo needs to be a vector image, which Inkscape will do. That way, it can be enlarged, as big as you want, or reduced in size without any loss of quality.
The other type of image, made up of wee dots is no good. This is called bitmap. Just try enlarging a normal photo or indeed an image on the Internet and the picture will become grainy .. Them's the dots.
Vector image have no dots.0
