Problem recording to dvd from digibox

Newly purchased Samsung dvd recorder has analogue tuner only and records ok from this source to HDD but recording via freeview digibox(which gives v good tv picture) has fine horizontal banding on playback. Have tried various scart combos but no joy.
Any help appreciated to avoid return of my sale 'bargain'.

Make sure you have a fully-screened Scart lead. The shorter the better. And make sure your box is outputting composite video, not RGB.0
