Can I cancel a in store contract sim deal when its sealed and under 7 days?

I got this last Wednesday but same day heard of a better deal online with cashback so went for that and so kept the sim sealed and went in to return today and the guy said I have no rights to return it as there is signal in my area..
I was told when signing up I could change my mind.
This was an in store deal not online so I wont have DSR's to help me.

No legal right to cancel if it is not in the terms and conditions
will have a tough time getting them to cancel on the word of the salesman.0
