Yes i would, i5 processor, 16gb ram, Intel graphics and a PCI-e x 16 Slot for future upgrades and windows 7.

the problem is with only a 250watt power supply you wouldnt be able to put a decent graphics card in the PCI-e slot without upgrading that as well

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

haha sorry, the system linked is good spec for the price and should run lightroom very well, just pointing out that a 250 watt power supply would limit you graphics card wise if you wanted a boost by using GPU acceleration - of course this doesnt mean you couldnt upgrade the power supply if it gets to that point - as ever with a set budget you have to find a happy medium between the components, the biggest bonus of a desktop in this way is that you can upgrade it if needed in future

Isn't the graphics card provided with this machine much good ? A PSU in the future won't break the bank. As long as it is doable I'm happy.

I built my own for around the budget you have (thanks again to Gonzo for the list of components).
All sourced from eBuyer and put together by yours truly.
Some of the prices will have changed but I think it would be a good place to start.

the zoostorm one is intergrated graphics so really only useful for normal applications, so things such as games and GPU acceleration will generally be beyond its reach, and although it might seem like photo editing etc should be heavy on the graphics card they really are not unless you use GPU acceleration and thats just a option, all the work in this instance will be done on the CPU which is pretty good

to be honest in the short search i have done, the closest one i can find for value for what you want to do is http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/configurePrd.asp?idproduct=1572 (from Dino who was part of your original question) as it has a slightly better CPU and includes a low powered dedicated GPU, but of course sacrifices RAM

    - and personally with this i would probably drop the graphics card entirely and upgrade the PSU on this to the 450w corsair, which would give a much better options of graphics card going forward if required

Possibly, but as long as you don't get smug you'll be fine! ;)

I had to reinstall windows due to a HDD crash but it's been top notch since I set it all going.

  • I have a intel graphics pc for work and it edits 1080p video perfectly well, it will be fine for anything you will throw at it.
