How to get money off when buying a brand new car
Options
I am thinking of buying a new Yaris Zinc with multi-mode gears. Went to a dealer and he offered £250 px for my 16 year old Corolla but that was it.
How can I beat him down (not bothered about px as I can give car to nephew), I can pay cash if that is better.
Is there any cheaper way to get this car - import it from somewhere?

Hi Lolly, have you looked at the net for the car? Sites like new-car discount or drivethedeal.co.uk? They seem to be well under MRP's. Hope this helps.0

Don't know Yaris at all so not sure of models listed in comparison to Zinc but give them a call anyway!
Our savings against a local dealers offer were almost £5K on a Grand Scenic!Fiscally responsible or just a tight git? :

Thanks Guys, you've certainly given me some places to look0

I searched for my car online, found the cheapest place to buy was "JamJar cars" printed off a screenshot, took it to my dealership and said basically "give me a reason why I should use you when they are offering the same car, same spec at this price" and the dealership said they would match it
I know 4 other people who have done this and every time the dealership has matched the price0 -
I think many dealerships (and manufacturers) are now being forced to get their prices down to near web dealer's.
I went to a large Ford dealer a while back for a test drive in a C Max. They gave me the drive and also offered me a price on a new vehicle that was VERY close to the best price I had seen on the web.
What really surprised me was that I said I had no intention of buying for a few months and made no attempt to 'haggle' over a price. When I get round to buying I will go back with lots of web prices in my hand !0
