Student loan company

On 19 feb I rung the slc and gave them my payments for the year up to and including feb straight off my payslip. They told me I had £1100 to pay and to ring back once I had my mar payslip so they would know how much was being paid in that month and I could then settle the account. I rang back to day and they deducted the £181 from mar then to my surprise said I had £1800 to pay!
Apparently the precious person was wrong. When they look back in the system notes it says how much I told them I had payed up to feb and that I would have £1100 to pay although this is slightly rough as the customer will make a further payment in mar.
Do I have any rights here. I gave made arrangements to pay this loan off expecting it to be just under £1000. Can they just cla human error?

I am afraid I can't help you, I hate the SLC in all shapes and forms, never met more incompetent and ridiculous staff in all my life. A trained monkey would be more useful."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

Its a standrard student loanfrom the student loan company. I am paying it off as i was told a settlement figue and had the money to pay off the loan. Now they are saying the amoun owed is more than £800 more than previously stated.0 -
what does you last yearly statement show?
can you work out approximately how much it should be ?0 -
I havent got the statement. Thats why i rang them up to find out.
I am also aware that there is a massive delay in payment frommpaye earn being applied so went armed with my total payments straight my payslip somit would be accurate.0 -
Not what you asked but I don't know why you would pay the loan off early when it's the lowest interest rate you'll ever get and you could get more for your savings elsewhere.0
-
Because i want an extra £181 income per month.0

Which you could get by putting your money into a savings account. In fact, you'd get more than that.0

Sorry but what account do you put £900 into and get £181 a month??
Anyway back to topic i would really like to know if i have any come back at them.0 -

You could sit the £900 in an account, earn interest on it and use it to 'give' yourself £181 a month to replace the student loan money taken from your pay packet.
Anyway, you have no recourse unless you can prove that their figure is wrong. If it is wrong and you can prove it, problem solved.0
