what to do in Trafford Center?

Considering its really cold and snowing up North, I'm thinking of possibly taking the kids out for an afternoon in Manchester. Some time in Trafford Center followed by eating at the Curry Mile in Rusholme.
Is there anything for kids to do in Trafford Center or nearby , or even in City center that will keep them occupied for a bit?
Do Man Utd hold any tours of the football ground ala Wembley and is their shop worth a visit or just overpriced tat?

How old are the kids?
Trafford Centre has bowling, cinema, lego land and shopping plus restaurants. There's also a rope climbing adventure thing http://www.aerialextreme.co.uk/page/Manchester although I hear Go Ape is better.
As above, MOSI is excellent0 -

There are more things at the Trafford Centre to keep amused then you can shake a stick at! All that has been listed above plus there is a crazy golf place, Paradise Island that might be good for your kids. Also there is a laser quest next door to that too. Also over the road from the TC is the Chill Factore with loads of activities going on, in fact they've got kids go free offer on over Easter

You can also just go in to eat and watch the stuff going on and they have a great ice cream parlour.
If you're still not done you can go next door to Airkix and watch the indoor sky diving.
Manchester United do tours of the ground and also City do too which I'd highly recommend (being a blue);)0 -
Our granchildren liked the War Museum (which is free) and they loved Old Trafford (which is not)0

There's also the National Football Museum in Urbis in the City Centre.0
