To be honest turning up in a 12 year old Astra isn't going to look that much better than turning up in a 14 year old Almera.
In my experience most customers don't actually care all that much so long as you turn up on time and get the job done well. Might be an issue if you work in sales but other than that it shouldn't be a problem unless all your customers are huge snobs.0 -
Could never work in sales.. cannot rip people off lol.... When I sell to my mates computer stuff I only charge them what I got them for....If the world is a stage... I want better lighting!0

This is so True. OP take this on board.
I bought my Focus, which was mechanically perfect, with thinking would not need to touch it but 2 years on have spent about & 1000 on wear & tear and this year i have about close to probably £6-800 worth of work
even though i know the focus is not worth more than £6-800, i am not in position but new so if i was get another imagine what little issues that would need fixing and its those little things that add up.
I know OP you feel the astra would be the more economical of the two but unless its mint with every part thrown in too be new, then also expect to paying for wear & tear parts which will cost more than fixing the nissanTotal Debt in June 2013: Barclaycard 0% until Nov 2014: £1550
