4 loans, 10 years ago - can this be correct?

Hi All,

Just hoping for some advice - not sure how much light you could shed on this but here goes.

I had a chain of 4 loans, starting from 2001 with Barclays - all of which had PPI added. FOS wrote to me about 2 months ago to say that following their intervention my reclaim was successful and Barclays would contact me in due course with details of a refund that would be in line with the FOS guidelines.

I have not received any correspondence from Barclays however a payment of £14.63 has been made into my account - can this be correct? For 4 loans?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

I'd contact the Bank to ask exactly what this payment pertains to. If it is in fact your PPI redress, then you should request a breakdown of how they came to such a low figure. Did you default on these loans by any chance? Or pay them off after a very short time?

Thanks for the reply Money, no - it was a very straightforward loan term - not large loans at all but never defaulted and paid off in full across the full term. I'm going to see if I receive correspondence today and if not I'll call them

I've received correspondence from Barclays to say that's the total amount they're offering me :-( I don't understand how this can be right when it was a chain of 4 loans. If I copy the breakdown onto here will anybody be able to make sense of it for me please?

hmmm...sounds a bit wrong.
How quickly did you consiolidate them and did they all have PPI?

They all had PPI and the dates are as follows:

Loan 1 - 24/9/1999 - 26/4/2000
Loan 2 - 20/4/2000 - 9/11/2000
Loan 3 - 9/11/2000 - 24/5/2001
Loan 4 - 23/5/2001 - 7/5/2002

And how much PPI did you pay to start with on each one before you consolidated it.

I'm not sure. This letter says £186.56 but I'm not sure if this is supposed to relate to just one of them or the entire chain of loans :-S
