roxburghe

After getting a fake ticket from excel in July 2012 on Bondylads patch and then last contact from excel end of September, we have now recieved the Roxburghe letter. Looking at all the stickies of Roxburghe letters it looks as though they have added a new line to them stating " we are fully aware of anectdotal information being presented via the internet and or various websites and you may well feel this guidance is worth following, we strongly urge you to seek independent legal advise rather than rely on these options" So
what letter's next and whats the new law change going to mean????

standard rubbish from Poxburghe, just another letter in the chain, looks like they are going through their files picking up old and outstanding non payers. Best to file away and continue to ignore more so with it being pre October 2012.

The new law only means they can chase the registered keeper post 1st October 2012 so does not apply in your case plus the next letter in the chain can be found here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

New line? That letter is already on the sticky thread but under another PPC. Try Googling that phrase from the letter...it's ancient and very common!

    So what letter's next

The next ones shown under any PPC that uses Roxburghe/Graham White letters. When looking at the 'PPC letter chains' sticky, look at all the PPCs who use those letters.

and whats the new law change going to mean??

    Errrrmmm...

  • "legal advise" That little grammatical howler should give an indication as to the type of people who sent the letter!

If they thought that taking "advice" from a forum strengthened their position why would the bother telling you.
If they thought they had a "legal" claim for the money, why bother writing endless threatening letters warning you about it.
Surely they would just go straight to court.
    Be happy...;)

Once again I remind readers that in May 2011 Roxburghe (UK) Ltd were notified by the OFT that they were "Minded to Revoke" their existing Consumer Credit Act licence. Since that time Roxburghe have been subject to an ongoing investigation/supervision by the OFT.

The licence that Roxburghe obtained in 2010 expired in March this year and although they were told, a year after it was issued, it was nevertheless in existence. They submitted an application for a new licence on 25 February and that application is still currently marked as "Open" now approaching 6 weeks after it was submitted. Technically they do not have a licence albeit, as I understand it, as this was the renewal of a licence until it is renewed (or, indeed, revoked) it is deemed to continue.

One of the conclusions is that despite the OFT's good offices Roxburghe still can't get it right - after nearly two years of having their hands held. One has got to ask quite how much longer this is allowed to continue?

The fact that Graham White aka Roxburghe have appeared to suddenly grow an appendage (or, perhaps more accurately, a pair of them) and have issued a flurry of proceedings may not be unrelated to having to persuade the OFT that they actually mean what they say, are ready and willing to go to court and - most importantly - have the wherewithal to see matters through to a conclusion.

I for one, would relish the prospect of seeing Mr Sobell using his Senior Railcard, for once, and actually appearing at some reasonably distant court and presenting a case.

Since his last known physical manifestation at Wandsworth County Court in June 2006 (when he represented a group of builders who had occupied a house they had been working on in an effort to secure payment - he, and they, lost by the way) nothing has been seen of Mr S, despite a few false starts and many, many signatures.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
