Equifax innacuracy

Options
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum

Just got myself one of those free 30 days things with Equifax. Everything seems in order except for the financial associates part.

It lists my wife, except it lists her old name. Just wondering how you go about changing this, if at all possible? Everything else is accurate other than this. Does it even matter? We'll be buying a house soon so was checking to see if everything was tip top.

    Did that.

It's coming up 2 weeks now. I've read that they change things pretty quickly. I don't consider 2 weeks without change quick.

How long can this take out of interest?

What the issue with having your wife old name on your report?

Normally an alias would be created if for example someone was to get married.

Thats partly the reason why lenders ask if you have been known by any other name.

There isn't an issue as such. It's just 'out-of-date' if you will. Figured since i've got an account running i may as well update all the details so that they're current.

Through Noddle she's listed as having lived in a house she's never set foot in. They're taking their time to change this too.

Other names known as will always remain so in theory it is correct.

How long does Alias information stay on my file?

    Forever.

The circumstances are clearly not the same in this instance.

From memory, subscription service users do not access the live data feed - only commercial customers get this. I would like to think that they update weekly to consumers, but heard complaints that it IS only monthly, so no change will be noticed during the trial period.
