Unable to find doors to fit.

My house was built in 1900 and like yours my door frames are all different sizes.

After doing lots of research, most doors you can buy off the shelf allow a maximum trim of 12 mm. 6mm off each side. This is because the doors are not solid, but engineered and if you surpass 6mm not only do you weaken the door but you also cut into its core, so the result can be a messy finish unless you get a carpenter who can alter each door.

I also looked at solid doors which allow you to trim down to any size you want, however you are looking around £250+ just for the door, when you include carpentry costs an fixtures, you'll be looking at £350 per door as a guide.

What I choose to do was to replace all of the door frames instead. I bought new door frames from Wickes at about £30 per frame and installed these. Now I can fit any door I want and because the door frames are almost bang on square I didn't have to pay a carpenter to fit them either.

So all in to do 6 doors I've paid out about £660

B&Q Do different widths, if you search online it allows you to filter on sizes. In store they have the different sizes side by side. This would help you to ensure by the same style but to different widths.
The packaging also states what can be safely & evenly removed from each side and still have a usable door..
