When in Spanish hotel last year I tried using the internet, but found I just could not make the @ sign work. It was placed on a key with two other symbols (can't remember which ones now). The @ was on the bottom right, but I could not find a combination of keys to make it work, therefore I wasn't able to get into my emails. I am going again next week. Can someone please tell me how to make the @ sign work?

How to change keyboard language in Windows XP
- Click Start and then Control Panel
- In Control Panel, if you are in Category View, click on Switch to Classic View
- Open Regional and Language Options.
- Click on the Languages tab.
- Under Text services and input languages, click on the Details button.
- Under Installed services, click Add.
- In the Add Input Language dialog box, choose the input language and keyboard layout or Input Method Editor (IME) you want to add.
- Click OK twice. You should now see a language indicator in the System Tray (located at bottom right hand corner of the desktop by default). You can switch between different input methods by pressing the Alt + Shift keys
- Remember to changes it back to Spanish !!!!

Hi,
did a bit of searching over my morning coffee, and found this.
Arroba (@), post 4, seems you just use "alt gr" and number 2, does that sound right?0 -
How to change keyboard language in Windows XP
Hi,
not sure if anyone can change keyboard settings on a public computer, hotel, library or whatever, in a busy international place, it would be a bit confusing, you could go to a computer and might find it set for Russian, Arabic, etc, ok if you know the language.0 -
I don't think the OP is asking to change the language/layout of the keyboard but to make some symbols work. I think I used a Spanish keyboard in north Morocco once and some keys where you would expect to to use shift used the alt gr key. I had to ask in the internet cafe as I could see the ! symbol I wanted on a key but could not get it to write.0

You might want to look at this chart. It contains all you should need and is courtesy of The University of York!
I found it to be a great help and a wonderful page to bookmark as well.

When I want to use the EURO sign which is in the same position as you say the @ sign is on the Spanish keyboard I use: Press Ctrl+ALT together and then the key it's on e.g. €
Sorry if this doesn't help.0 -
Jake's right. When I was in Germany I had to press Ctrl+Alt and number 2 to get "@".0
