    Hello,

My laptop has just started up ok again now, but I think it would be a good idea to have some computers of the above description as options in case this laptop does this again & does not start up again

    Thank's xxx

you're existing i5 must be fairly new, just back it up with disk imaging software - to turn off when it doesn't want to, you keep holding the power button down for 6-10 seconds, or remove power lead and battery

there are many many threads about new laptops, they become out of date very quickly

    Thank You,

I got mine just when they first come out so I think mine is now 3 years old. Yes I took the plug out, pressed & held the off button for a long time, it just did not respond & was still making the awful noise 20 mins later though then it did switch off thankfully lol.

I've got the laptop back up by oneclick as I am 100% usless with computers

Already answered on your other thread-why duplicate?
You are now asking for advice on a new laptop before anyone has had a chance to tell you what is wrong with the old one-which could be a very simple fix.
If you've got it going again, just make sure you have an up to date back-up.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Thank You,

I actually panicked & posted both, but when I did get this one back up & working again I put another message under it saying it is working again, but I still want to know of any good windows 7 home premium laptops so if this one does pack up completely then I know which one to order quickly

  • Don't panic. (Yes, I watched the HitchHiker's Guide on TV last night). There's probably nothing wrong with your laptop and if there is, it's probably just a software glitch that can be easily fixed. As macman says, you'll feel less vulnerable if you've got all your data safely backed up. If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, invest in a USB drive and use it for backups.

No, no money in my pockets at all (pulls out pocket linings)

I've got one click back up hard drive & everything is backed up so keep fingers crossed xxx
