Newspaper missing sections

Anyone know what rights I have if I buy a paper (say, The Times) in a plastic pack and find it is missing half the sections? I emailed the address given to ask for these to be sent to me, but The iTems won't send them and won't refund me. Sale of Goods Act?

It's between you and the place you bought the times. Not the times themselves. Go back to the shop, tell them what happened and get either the sections or a refund.

Usually if you're missing a section then you can phone up and get them sent.

If its happening on a regular basis and you're buying the paper from the same shop then I would change shops.

And if that didn't work I would change newspapers.

As for a refund I think you have no chance - I mean how do you prove that you didn't have that section?

That's an interesting point MOD.

I know we are talking about a daily newspaper here, but during the first six months after purchase it is for the seller to prove that all the sections were there.

It was just a thought. The arrogance of the Times "customer service" department gave me the impression they weren't interested in my custom, only my money. If you see me in Tesco's tearing open the plastic wrap you'll know why!
