Looking to pick your brains, please.
I have a Medion monitor that came with my computer system when bought new about 4 years ago. Recently, monitor has started flickering sometimes or having interference lines now and again. In past week or so, sometimes the display shrinks with just aboun an inch or so of black bands on each side of screen, although the actual display still show everything it should, it's just narrower than it should be. I can sometimes adjust the screen back to usual using controls on monitor, sometimes not. It is not happening every time I use the computer, and sometimes everything starts of all OK then changes to the black bands after a while.
Feel screen is ready to give up the ghost. Any thoughts as to whether this is probably the case or if I can apply any fix?
Thanks in advance.

crt or lcd? Probably on its last legs either way tbh.0

I assume cathode rather than liquid crystal (but could be wrong as not very technical minded). Big, bulky rear to monitor, like old TV's.butterfly )i(0

It may well be that the monitor is starting to die. However, it may be worth checking out a few things first...
1. Check that the power and data leads are firmly connected to the back of the monitor.
2. Check that the data (VGA) lead is firmly connected to the back of the PC.
3. Try updating the drivers for your graphics card0 -
Had already checked all leads etc, but didn't check for any possible driver updates so will give it a go thanks.butterfly )i(0

Drivers seem to be up to date. Guess the monitor is just getting fed up being used so much.butterfly )i(0
