Watcher count now public?

Don't know if I'm going mad or not, but a few days ago I noticed that I could see how many watchers items had (as a buyer). Have had a look this morning and the feature seems to have disappeared again.
Does anyone know if this was eBay testing a new feature, or a glitch in the system, or something else maybe?

I went on a computer at work and saw a completely different layout for the eBay item page, that displayed the watcher count. However, the next time I went onto eBay there, it had disappeared, and I haven't seen that page since!0

I saw that yesterday, but not today.
Hoping that this is not a new feature, if I knew something had say, 10 watchers I probably wouldn't bother, when the reality is as we all know watchers means nothing.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50
Amazon 14.......4/50 Etsy14............46/75. Ebay........23/2000 -
I first saw this a few month ago (reported it here with a screenshot but didn't get a single comment!)
It disappeared for a few months but has now reappeared - only shows watchers for BINs, not auctions.
There is also a useful 'up' arrow at the side of the screen which whizzes you back to the top of the page with one click.0 -
I can't see a good reason for showing watchers on fixed price items, it's possible if there's a lot it may encourage a buyer. More likely it will just confuse them.
A simple encouragement for buyers (especially on mobile devices) to read descriptions is about the only change needed..0 -

Yes that's right, here's the link;
http://www.goofbid.com/ebay_most_popular_tool.html
However, it only shows the number of watchers once there is a bid.0 -
Ebay.com rather than UK always shows the watchers.0
