Double glazing guarantee about to expire

Our 10 year DG guarantee is about to expire, is there anything I need to check / do prior to it expiring, i.e. locks / frame etc., etc.,?

If it's actually double glazing and not window or conservatory warranty, the thing to check for is misted, ie broken sealed, units.;);) or seals that have "shrunk" due to being stretched on fitting.

Check the terms of the guarantee. I would be surprised if the ten years included the handles, ironmongery, glazed units... Only you know what is covered in here!

10 years only covers the frames and units. The locks, handles, hinges ECG will only be covered for 12 or at the very most, 24 months.

Worth checking as many handles now come with a 10yr gurantee.

When you think about it there very few parts to actually go wrong.It does seem strange how you can get a TV from John Lewis with a 5yr warranty that has hundreds of components but a window handle,hinge has 12 months but very few components to go wrong.

I think that is because the window handle is less likely to fail than the tv? Hence the fact that the handle costs 10p so replacement is irrelevant, the tv = 1000 x 10p, 300 x being the cost of the warranty.

I agree, but it would be cheap/easy to give a 10yr warranty on a handle as it only costs 10p to make and not to mention good marketing.

Is it assumed the company is still going? Otherwise guarantee worthless unless you took out an IBG insurance backed guarantee.
