I am quitting Sky becauseI think they are a bunch of robbing !!!!!!s!
Anyway, point is, I have Sky + and once I've quit, can I use the old Sky+ box as a PVR to do the same job through freeview?
Thanks for any advice in advance

No.
You need to be a current Sky+ subscriber to record and playback with a Sky+ box. You wont even be able to view already recorded programmes.
It will work as a FTV and FTA viewer if you keep the card, but the recording function will not work.0 -
Thanks for the info. Dunno what to do now!
I can't seem to find a decent PVR for a good price, suppose I'll just have to keep lookin0 -
I have just cancelled my Sky package, and was told by Sky that if I want to keep my Sky+ and continue using it, it will cost me £10 per month. So I thought that meant I would still be able to use the facility of recording and viewing, and series link, which I find nice and easy. Perhaps I need to check out with Sky, that I will definitely be able to use it, otherwise whats the point of paying £10 per month?:huh:0

yes you will keep the sky+ function for £10 a month but why pay sky when you can get a freeview pvr to do the same job and not pay sky a penny0 -
