H&M online

I needed a rant about H&M online orders. Why in this day and age do H&M seem to be the only company who won't deliver to any address than the registered home address?

I placed an order with them but they cancelled it as I put down my work address. They refuse to deliver anywhere other than my home but they use couriers rather than Royal Mail and I'm at work all day. So I'm penalized because I work obviously

Very disappointing and infuriating ... but also ridiculous I've never had any problems with any other online company.

I guess it's their loss financially at the end of the day though ...

Was this your first order with them? I know that some online shops will insist on delivering the first order to your registered home address (or that of the cardholder) and then be more flexible afterwards for security / fraud prevention reasons.

    Thanks for your comment.

Unfortunately this seems to be their policy, to only deliver to the registered home address.

    You didn't answer the question.

    Was this your first order?

I have dealt with companies who will deliver to an address other than your registered CC one but not on the first order. Which seems quite reasonable.

Then I'd contact them, tell them that because of their policy, I'll never order from them again because it is unfair on people who do work.

It was my first order but they said their policy is to only deliver to home addresses and not business addresses - full stop. So wouldn't make any difference which order number it was.

And even if for first order it still doesn't help those of us who work, although I appreciate what you say in that companies do ask that for a first order - just none I've used.

Refusing the deliver to a business address is not the same thing as refusing to deliver anywhere other than the registered address.

They'll deliver elsewhere. Just not business.

I do agree though its annoying when you know you're going to be at work anyway.

It's to prevent fraud, if they deliver to an address that does not match the payment address and you claim your account has been hacked and did not place the order, or the item did not arrive they lose out. Distance Selling Regs mean they have to prove the customer received the item, a squiggle from someone claiming to be a receptionist won't help.
