Which Magnetic CH Filter?

I was just about to purchase a Spirotech Spirotrap MB2, and now I see that they have launched the MB3 model (the one with the external removable magnet).
Has anyone any experience of either (good or bad), and is the MB3 worth the tenner or so extra?

Excellent products: we fit either the MB2 or MB3 depending on the customer's budget.

I installed an MB3 on my system about 6 months ago. Pleasantly surprised at how well it works and its very simple to fit with the slip fitting. I went for this one as its a solid lump of metal and feels durable compared to other filters i looked at. Overall a good bit of kit.

My RGI says he was put off the Magnaclean by the lid leakage problems on the earlier ones. Now apparently resolved though. However it's much bulkier compared to the MB2 or MB3.

First Magnaclean design had problems. The MkII improved it no end. Competitors come on the market all the time. I think as noted the difference between MB2 and MB3 is you pays your money and you takes your choice.

    Cheers

Nice to know, I guess they all work by the same principle, magnetically trapping loose iron oxide from the system, sludge in other words.

Have only ever fitted 1 unit, a Magnaclean, Mk 2 I think??, about 4 years back???.

I did think it a pis* poor design back then, but functionally brilliant.;);)
