I returned to studying in 2009 and completed a foundation degree part time over 3 years. Folowing this I was offered the opportunity to top this up to a full honours degrees which I accepted.
In March 2012 I applied for student finance to cover the fees of £9000 and to seenif I was entitled to a grant. They processed my application but 'forgot' to process my childcare grant...this was eventually sorted and then they wrote and told me they were only paying £3565 of my fees as that's what they should be....anyway to cut a long story short...they messed me about until eventually they sorted everything out in Nov 2012.
Then last week I received a letter out of the blue to saythey had reassessed my claim and I wasnt entitled to anything at all! I rang them to be told it was a mistake and to ignore the letter. I have since been in contact with them and now they are saying they dont think it's a mistake but I will have to wait 3 weeks to find out for sure! Needless to say I have filed a complaint but they have said the complaint will take longer to reply to!
I am worried sick, I omly have about 8 weeks left before completion of my degree and I can't concentrate on anything with this hanging over my head. Does anyone have any knowledge of how this works? Can anyone put my mind at rest?
Sorry for the essay but I didn't know where else to turn for help.

Have you studied at this level before?0

No, the foundation degree was the highest level of study until this top up.0
-
In that case I can't see any reason for thinking that you aren't entitled to funding for this top up year.0
