weekly shopping budget

Options
I'm committed to clearing our debts as quickly as possible, but I need help with the weekly shopping budget ( food, hygiene, cleaning); What's a reasonable weekly/monthly budgeting amount for general shopping 2 adults and 1 child per week/month? Help please

£60 - £65 per week, a bit less is do-able. Actually we could do it on less than £60 a week even with eating meat/fish every day plus fresh fruit .
    Good luck.

I work to £25 per person per week for food, personal hygiene and cleaning stuff. That pays for all meals except school lunches.

We could certainly reduce this if needed. If you reduce the quality of produce bought I'd strongly recommend keeping (and eating) large quantities of fruit and veg within the remaining spend.

Make yourself familiar with prices across supermarkets using https://www.mysupermarket.com.

Register with https://www.supersavvyme.co.uk for discount coupons. For each voucher used stick the cash in a piggy bank towards Christmas.

Make yourself familiar with Martin's savings and also the freebies section of https://www.hotukdeals.com - I've not paid for toothpaste for about two years due to the offers on there!

Consider doing Aldi / Lidl one week and Tesco / Asda the next. Then you'll establish true value. My local Co-op shuts at 8pm and used to sell off cooked chickens for 10p after 7.30pm. So check out the discount section for tonight's meal.

Lots more you can do. Eating before you shop will help lower your bill. Never shop on an empty stomach! The Old-Fashioned Money Saving part of this site will also give you some ideas.
