My Nan (yeah really) loves these types of games, she buys them from: http://www.bigfishgames.com
Thy have a selection of this type of game, you need an internet connection to download but I'm 99% certain they can be played offline once downloaded.0 -
I recommend a trip to Morrisons, if you have one nearby. They sell a lot of those hidden object/puzzle games at very low prices, usually on a stand in their entertainment section.
They have plenty of choice, and none of them have intensive requirements so almost any PC should be able to run them easily.0 -
OK here's a few that I have played and thoroughly enjoyed.
DROD, Deadly Rooms of Death free download here. Note it's turn based, you swing your sword, the monsters move one square, no rush. In later levels you need to take a break now and again and do something simpler like study particle physics.
Sokoban, warehouse manager. A move boxes around style of puzzle game. Try here.
And of course Lemmings one of the great games (IMNSHO) of all time.
In all cases you will download an installer file, which needs to be transferred to memory stick (or CD) on your PC then installed from the memory stick (or CD) on your neighbour's computer.
Disclaimer - I haven't downloaded these lately and cannot guarantee that they will work OK, also please have your virus checker up to date.
