ECP - Solicitors Letter? What would they lead to?

This may have in the main featured in the previous threads but perhaps with one exception i.e. I received a letter from the solicitor on behalf ECP following a letter from a Debt collector which I ignored as per advice from this forum. I am threatened with court action and losing my credit rating. What happened was that I parked in a retail cark park (in Scotland) which I only found out when I was sent a letter by ECP that it was monitored by Euro Car Parks via the aid of CCTV. In the letter ECP stated that I had overstayed by 50 odd minutes. I see it as a trap, to say the least, and certainly a cynical plot by a company which feeds on others’ hard earned money. The car park doesn’t have a pay point nor a visible signage in prominent places, if there is any. I used the same park a number times before without having any problems and I parked my car for over 2 hours not knowing that the park had fallen in the hands of the ECP- certainly a predictor. This was may be before ECP took over. Can I go own ignoring their letters? What should I expect?

Could you please start your own thread. This one is about a completely different company. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Hi TE- ECP & welcome to MSE :hello:
I've moved your post into a new thread.
In terms of the letters, these are scare tactics designed to intimidate you into paying. They can't affect your credit record unless they take you to court.
All they can claim for is genuine losses/damages. If the car park was free then those losses are arguably £0. If they issue genuine court papers (very unlikely but I'm mentioning it for the sake of posterity), make sure you post back here so you can get advice.
Otherwise, just file their nonsensical letters away and forget about it.0 -

TE-ECP,
Unlike Salmond who can only promise riches tomorrow if only we divorce those dratted English, I can give you jam today - up here in Scotland we can safely ignore these plonkers and instantly deprive the English of your guid Scots pounds, making youself and wee pudden face happy!0 -
Just noticed that Euro Car Parks aren't on the new (post-October 2012) letterchains - if you're willing to scan and upload the letters you've received (remove all personal info including dates/times), they'd be grateful for it:

Crabman there was also a post yesterday from someone in Scotland saying that they just got the letter that our old Letter Chains pre-Oct sticky says 'this is no longer sent'. Maybe it should just say 'this template is sent for cases in Scotland' instead.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I sent you link crabman for a threatogram from ncp , can't remember my password or name for pepipooWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Thanks for highlighting this CM, I've put a note at the top to say it applies to Scotland and removed the "this is no longer sent" next to the Graham White letter.I sent you link crabman for a threatogram from ncp , can't remember my password or name for pepipoo
Thanks, I've sent a response0
