Hi,
I've just done a system restore and gone through the process of updating windows. It says it is now up to date but when I try to install IE9 I'm told SP2 is not installed. Why hasn't it installed and what is best way to install it?

Windows/Microsoft update should work, wait until your updates have finished (you will probably have to reboot a few times & it will take a few hours)0

It doesn't appear to be installing SP1. Says it is but completes it in no time at all and then when I check for updates its there again. If I was rich I wouldn't care about money. Think I should be rich because I don't care about money now! :beer:0

It should have updated automatically, I believe.
You can try downloading SP1 manually though.

It should indeed. Had a quick google of this and it seems quite common but not sure why?If I was rich I wouldn't care about money. Think I should be rich because I don't care about money now! :beer:0

Are you sure SP1 isn't already installed?
My old Acer had SP1 already installed in the recovery image so whenever I did a system restore from the recovery partition it didn't need to install it.
SP2 always took an age to come up in the windows updates. Following restore it would do about 120 updates, then say there were no others required. I had to get it to check again before SP2 came up.0
