I might not miss TRS after all

Since I have decided to step back a bit from eBay my morning today was very peaceful. I usually have to get up promptly on a Saturday as I tend to sell some things on Friday nights. I pack my stuff, have a quick shower and battle my way through Saturday traffic to deliver it all to the mail centre.

I can wait 30 minutes in there due to everyone wanting to collect parcels for which they have been carded. I risk a parking ticket and I get quite stressed- I then have to fight queues of traffic to get home.

Today I decided not to bother, I have 2 day despatch showing so Monday will be fine. I had a leisurely breakfast, a long bath and then we went out to lunch.

Goodbye TRS, I might not miss you after all.

Good for you Soolin. Leisurely baths are great at the weekend!

I'm thinking pretty much the same as you. I'll lose my TRS too but will carry on selling as long as it suits me to do so. Maybe it will still be worth doing maybe it won't but I won't be rushing so much to get to the post office in future.

Unless I've had a bad Friday or have something else to do on a Monday I've given up on Saturday post too. I was told RM don't often bother with it until Monday anyway.

I haven't posted on a Saturday for over a year.

Now that we have moved premises our site doesn't have a collection on a Saturday and we go over to our caravan at the seaside most weekends because I work up of 18 hour days during the week.

Our dispatch time is generally around 4.96 and never goes below 4.93.

I added a note on to our policy info to state the we only dispatch Mon-Fri but I have no idea if anyone ever takes note or not.

I ALWAYS post at a post office within 12 hours of dispatch (even at weekends as my PO is open 7 days a week 5am - 11pm:)) and I've still managed to get one low star this month for dispatch time - go figure! :mad:

I'm definitely getting mellow (or just resigned to the fact that eBay don't give a fig about my mini business) as I've just noticed some worrying feedback left earlier today and I can't be bothered to worry.

The feedback mentions poor quality of item but price and seller fantastic. However what they say is actually quoted on the listing, so for instance if this were say a brooch I mentioned 'glass stones' not gemstones and feedback says 'stones only glass'.

I shall wait and see what stars I get, and maybe I can work up the enthusiasm to worry then.

Forget about it, i'm starting to not care either. I'll continue to sell but i will not be stressed about it anymore. A relative is in hospital and i have to go back and fore to the hospital at the moment, ebay takes second place to that.
Sat is the hospital last night i get a message from a buyer in ireland complaining they hadn't recieved something that was only posted 5 days ago.
With all the bad weather and the possibility of customs holding it up i don't get some buyers.
I normally get stressed with these messages but i told them politley i was away from my paperwork and i'll get back to them later. Took me until 10mins ago to get back to them but i don't care anymore.
No point in telling them i'm at the hospital people don't believe you anyway.

Some in shops. One of the ones i use i can post any day.

Soolin, i used to enjoy Ebay and still be a good seller. Now i am still a good seller, but hate it and hate Ebay. They have driven me to this with their anti-seller attitude. Happy to take our money though.

Since i have stopped caring as much - my feedback as not suffered and i tend to defend my position more with nasty buyers.

A lot of the stress / hassle is un-necessary. I don't mind doing a good job of things - but not being bullied to meet unreasonable demands from a company with no customer service of note - and which alienates decent customers. The fact they are tax dodging scumbags - just makes it even more harder to stomach.

techspec, you have summed up my thoughts in a better way than I have tried to explain.

I did, and still will make sure my buyers get the best service I am able to provide, I do not intend to start ripping people off or igoring them.

I have always offered a two day despatch 2nd class, yet I found myself worrying if I missed the PO one day even if someone bought at say 1 pm and I'd already been to the PO I would sometimes make a special trip back. On occasions someone would mention that something was urgent, yet still pay for 2nd class and not the also offered 1st class, and I would send ti first without charging them.

Not now, if they leave poor stars I'll deal with that when it happens, not sit and worry that I could only take 3 low stars a year before losing TRS- I became obsessed with those numbers. My percentages mean I can take a fair few low stars without losing my average standing, so that's fine.

Last Wednesday someone paid for somehting that they won on Sunday and mentioned it was urgent and it needed to be sent ASAP, but i responded politely to say that I only post in the mornings so they had missed the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday post so it would be sent second clas son Thursday. I suggested that if they wanted to upgrade to 1st to let me know- and i've heard nothing, and i am not even worried.
