Some German logic.
My friend crashed on the Nurburgring. When he came round, the Police turned up, and gave him a 60 euro fine for speeding.
We asked how he could get a ticket for speeding on a road with no speed limit.
Imagine the German accent if you will:
"He is crashing. Zerfore he is speeding. Zerfore 60 euro" Couldn't really argue with that.
Whilst I accept that control on ice isn't easy, trying to push the blame elsewhere isn't a good idea from the OP. What if that post had been a child?
I have seen many people out and about in poor conditions that simply shouldn't be, they just don't have the skills to deal with it. Worse because we don't get this sort of weather that often and people just aren't used to it.
15mph is more than plenty OP. You could have been going slower I feel. Sorry but there it is.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
As I have said previously this has all been resolved with the car park. I received a call just an hour ago to say CCTV shows I did not hit the damaged post and actually just bumped the large reinforced one as I thought. Lesson learned to avoid driving in the snow where possible. Thanks to all who have helped. It was never my intention to blame another party. As a driver I know that when you are behind the wheel you are reposnsible. I am happy with the outcome, just a shame about certain childish individuals.0

Thanks for the update and glad common sense prevailed. Oh and by the way, fixed the last bit for you. I only counted one.
