Problem with sandisk clip zip

Having previously bought a Clip Plus and various other mp3 players I seem to have a problem with my recently bought Clip Zip.
I have dragged some music to the device and the device seems to have the music installed but when I go on to Music it states "empty".
Is it a faulty player or am I missing something?

When it's connected to your computer, make sure it's in MSC (UMS) mode not MTP.

You should see 2 drives - the player's internal memory plus the microSD - then you can just create a music folder and start dragging and dropping your audio files.

Thanks for your suggestion Dreamnine. I think I have done that but not sure. When I remove the player from the computer it starts to refresh the media but sticks and does not complete.

Some things to check....

Clip-Zips can have problems with very long file names.

There may be something upsetting the Zip in the mp3 tags. These can be edited with any number of free software tools.

Did you move the music file into the music folder? It could have interpreted the mp3 files as something else. Have you looked elsewhere on the clip-zip?

Suggest you try another mp3 file from another source. eg there should be some windows demo mp3s.
