Good Parenting Skills books???

:A I am not a bad parent (honest! ) but there are somethings I could do with some help with.
All the kids are of different ages (teens, 5yo and 3yo) and all girls so I would like a good parenting skills book that has techniques for all age groups.
I am finding it increasingly difficult to deal with the girls - why is it that when one starts each one starts as well, different things are needed for aged different kids (ie. the naughty step is no use to a 16yo!!) and I am pulling my hair out!??????
Does anyone have one that they have used and can recommend.

sorry but i can't remember the name of the one i used- it has versions for each (3 different books)age group and it came from a class i took at my local council (they were offering it just i time for me not to go mad).
it was the educational psychologists of the council that ran it. maybe give yours a call. parentline might also know of one (and its anonymous to call)
the basics were the same for all ages-the parent must learn listening skills; if whatever you do isn't working, stop doing it and try something else and if it works do more of it; and you are not alone.0 -

Incredible Years by Webster Stratton saved my life!!
I got this book when I went on a postive parenting course a couple of years ago. It's a great book. My son has behavoural problems and this book helps to remind us how to deal with all behaviour. It's great. It's aimed at children up to 8 years but my son is nearly 10 now. They do one for teens I think too. I think books like this should be given out at birth0 -
Beyond toddlerdom by Dr christopher Green. I'ts really funny but gives good advice. I also had his book called babies and found it a lifesaver when my now 12yo was a baby, beyond toddlerdom covers all ages. HTHSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0

I second the Dr Christopher Green books - they've helped us cope with a son who has ADHD and can be a bit of a handful at times (to say the least). They're funny, easy to read, not patronising, and when you read them, you really feel like he is talking common sense."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
