Experiance in Premium bonds

It is an important point. If you dont win anything, your money goes down in value in real terms. You are gambling the interest in the hope of winning a prize.
Exactly. I consider this I (and why we hold so little) to be a little flutter with some money left to us by a parent/grandparent.
It is stake safe gambling, and I would never have more than a few hundred-1K in PBs.0 -
I have held a couple of hundred pounds worth for about 30 years and won the grand total of £25 in all that time.0

I have held £12,500 for 8/9 years and have been very lucky to win £7725 in this time. I admit I have been lucky, but you have to be in to win anything.
It is up to each person whether they want a guaranteed return on their deposit or luck of the draw.

My average is 0.9% over the time I've held the bonds. No big prizes, that's all made up of £25 prizes. For now I'll leave it in place as there's a chance (albeit slim) of a big prize.0
