wtc and incapacity benefit

hi guys firstly aint this place great? secondly i apologise if this question has croped up before but i looked and couldnt find it.
right. basicaly my partner has been unable to return to work folowing the birth of our son due to ill health. and she is now claiming short term lower rate IC benefit. my question is do wtc take this into account when working out your entitlement?
any help would be great thanks

    I get both Incapacity Benefit at the normal rate, plus Income Support with Disability element and WTC.

    I think the difference is that IB is a State Benefit but WTC is a tax benefit.

    Incapacity benefit is taken into account.

    We had to declare IB when applying for WTC.
    It does affect how much you get as it is part of the total income.

    We did not have to declare IIB and DLA.

    for wtc IB is not taken into consideration for the first 6 months - but do tell them to abide by the rules
