Getting Paid in USDs

I'm new to this forum, and I'm not even sure if I'm posting in the right place...

If someone could offer me any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently in China and have just got a new job - they want to pay most of my salary in US Dollars, into a bank account overseas. I have no idea about how to set this up - or the best way to do it.

I can get the money paid into my HSBC current account in England - but, I'm worried about losing too much in conversion fees etc.

Can anyone think of a solution for the best way to sort this out?

Thanks!

(I can take a trip to Hong Kong or Singapore / Malaysia if setting up an account there would be an option - but, again, I have no idea about this stuff)
