Switching from duel fuel to single tariff?

Any body done this? We are just about to move from a place with duel fuel to somewhere that has just mains electric - we will have bottled gas to cook with and an oil fired rayburn already installed. I cant compare on websites because:
A) We swapped suppliers back along so we dont have a true estimate of consumption to compare with, and
I am assuming prices are usually higher if you are on a single tariff.
How did you find the price difference between duel fuel electric and single tariff electric? Thanks in advance of any replies

Dual fuel is usually cheaper, but not always-it would depend on your usage. I fail to see why you want to compare though, because if you don't have a mains gas supply then you have no need of a dual fuel tariff anyway.
You can calculate your consumption buy totalling your kWh electric usage across a year's bills, or just use average kWh figures (3,400kWh for a house without electric heating or DHW).

Gather your postcode and annual usage (or guesstimate) and plug figures in the comparison site.
On, say, uswitch, once they return the results the dual fuel will be the main tab but there are also tabs you can click to see gas only or electricity only results.
(If your gas is still hooked up it can be cheaper to go dual fuel. However, now with the switch to standing charges you may be too late to grab a bargain.)0 -
The Dual Fuel discount is usually given on just the Gas part of Elec & Gas billing, and it's not worth a lot - EDF give £8 a year - As you won't have gas in the new home forget about it
More to the point is the Elec consumption history of the new house, if possible ask the present occupier if they can show you the previous years bills, beyond that ask the present supplier when you register with them, what the annual consumption was for the last year - They don't have to tell you this, but it is in their own interests to so, so that you can budget for your future Elec use.0 -

Bottled gas is expensive compared to mains gas.
Oil prices are horrendous.
