No TV ?

Anyone with Sky tv (or as in our case no sky tv)? Haven't been able to get a signal all day. we are up in Carnmoney and the weather is quite bad (no buses, had to dig our car out, skidding everywhere, etc) Getting fed up with sky tv always letting us down. Just needed to vent. :(
Hope everyone is safe and warm.

Unfortunately SKY TV is just that...there is a satellite in the SKY and a dish on your house......and a lot of snow in between ;)

With us, we only really get a problem if there is actually snow on the dish. Can you reach it with a brush?

Just be careful that you don't whack the dish (or LNB) out of alignment

Don't whack it with the brush, they won't fix it for free if you knock it outta line!

Its so frustrating tho.. But if its any comfort... There is NOWT on at the mo anyways!

  • We had our sky service gone. So did all the online checks, then phones them up. They said about the weather and did then say that an engineer call out would be...I think it was £65.

We then went outside and had a look at the dish. It can easily reached with a step ladder...anyway.. making a long story short...the dish part was wiggling mad in the wind as it was only being help on by one of its four screws. I think you can guess the rest!!

Anyway, after finding them in the snow below, then were screwed in and the nut on the back and hey presto the sky is on again!!

    Brilliant!!

Unfortunately freeview disappeared on us last night. Went to switch it on in the bedroom and no signal. Transmitter problem apparently. We did have Sky downstairs though.

Yeah, happened in Newcastle and Newry areas too. Thank goodness for books!
