I work for an insurance company I really have to advise people to steer well clear of applying for insurance online. The reason I say this is because each insurance company is different and if a mistake is made the person who did the quote online is always liable.

The amount of people who have made quotes online only to find out later on that they are invalid is very high so my advice is pick up the telephone and call your insurance company.

so does that mean that i do need to pay for the back dated amount?

you get an extra 10% or so if you apply online so it works out cheaper, well it should do if you dont make mistakes.

Not always the case, people frequently can get a better deal by phoning up a company than by doing it online.

Girls cost less to put on an insurance policy - also different insurance providers have different criteria, so maybe your policy is just cheaper to add young drivers on...

Would also depend on the car, their occupation and how long they have held a licence.
