claiming credit card charges from defaulted accounts

Hi Please can someone help with this.

I defaulted on a Capital One account in November 2011, the debt got sold to Cougar finance, i got a job abroad and paid back £500 a month for 14 months to them, i have come home now and have not got a job yet and will struggle with payments. I only have a couple of thousand left to pay. I did not claim credit card charges, on this account and i am sure there was many, my question is can i still do this and if so how, and who do i direct it to, Capital one or cougar? I do not want to get out of paying for this debt just hoped these charges might help get the last bit down a bit whilst i am looking for a job. thanks in advance;)

Yes you can try. Follow the MSE guide:

Any claim should be directed towards the credit card company.
