Now, you'd think it would be a simple matter of Googling, then choosing, then installing.
Not so. I've just spent 25 minutes trying various 'recommended' downloads and all I've got is being sent on wild goosechases, having to uninstall crapware etc.
So I'd appreciate if someone could give me a definate clean d/l link.
TIA

You mean the outside ambient temp? Any weather site will tell you this for your postcode. Since your PC does not have a thermometer built into it to measure the ambient temp, any such data is limited to data obtained from local weather stations, and will be postcode based. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I have not yet found a PC that does not work with Speedfan here
Virtually every PC has sensors for motherboard, CPU and hard drive temps.
I'm guessing that the other posters are barking up the wrong tree! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I second speedfan0

I use Speedfan too, although I'm not sure how accurate it is. When I built my Windows 7 PC I used it for a short while before a new version of SpeedFan was released. The new version seemed to show notably different temperatures in similar conditions.
Maybe it was a quirk of environmental factors and the temperature readings were correct all along, or maybe the older version of SpeedFan didn't properly interpret/calibrate the temperatures (as I was using newly-released hardware which, maybe Speedfan didn't properly recognise), or maybe it's just not very accurate at all... Still, at worse it should give you a rough idea of relative temperature levels.0 -
I use Aida64, there is a free and paid version. It's good and pretty accurate too. Worth spending if temp is a real issue to you.
I had a water cooled machine so needed it, now I don't but have become used to seeing my temps! haha0 -
I was ambiguous, and after the pc temp. And I do have an old Dell.
Thanks to all.0 -

How do you know it's accurate? How do you verify the info?0 -
