Ouch - drop in salary

Well it's happened. OH has got a new, lower paid but hopefully less stressful job. We will have to live on 80% of our normal income. Seeing as we were just about making it to the end of the month on that this should be interesting challenge. I know we can do it if everyone , including OH comes on board. I'm prepared to get a second job, but not to work fulltime, as he would like, as I dont think this would be a good idea because of family commitments. We are finally going to have to talk about money - a dirty word in our house as everyone ever want to talkcutting back or doing without. I dont see a problem as I know our family wastes more than it likes to admit, despite my efforts. I've been accused of living in the dark ages more than once, and all I did was to put leftovers - unplated so perfectly hygenic- in the freezer for another day. Maybe now they will take note and follow my lead.

hi adele
Never easy taking a cut in salary, cutting back is only painful for a short while, then you just naturally get used to it.
have you thought about posting your SOA ( incomes, outgoings etc) on the Debt free wannabee board- we are pretty sharp at finding ways to cut back where you wont notice. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
though not as drastic this will be happening to me next week. i got a new job that is much better career prospects and better location for me. less travel for me means less sickness and generally feeling a lot healthier.
my new job is going to pya me £200 less a month than what i am gettting now. i know we will be ok cos we do spend a bit more than is strictly necessary ie oh xbox games, chineses etc so when you take all that out it doesnt seem so bad! still a bit worried but im sure i t will be fine for me and for u 2!love you lots like jelly tots0
