I have just seen this sign today in a car park in Newark. Note the use of the "p" word:-

This company are not on the AOS list, and the signs have only been in place for a couple of months. I wonder how they think they can get details from the DVLA?

The parking rates are nice and cheap!
Wonder how they think they can impose a penalty though?0 -

It doesn't say they can get the details - just that they "may be requested".:rotfl:0 -
Their email address robinhoodparking@btconnect.com doesn't give a very business-like impression. At least it's not Hotmail.0

And no website to boot, a very amateur attempt I think, though they have been around since 2006 according to companies houseWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

They have several car-parks in Newark, including two near the Northgate (East Coast Main Line) railway station. They seem to have expanded a lot in the last year or so.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Provided the PPCs don't get too greedy it's a nice little business model. All you need to do is get the necessary stationery, plastic bag & chequered tape to dress up the fake notice as a real Penalty Charge Notice. A high proportion of drivers will pay the £75 straight off & you don't need to go the expense & hassle of chasing them up with the DVLA or sending a series of threatening letters. You could make a small fortune with very little effort. In fact that is exactly what this gang did in a free enterprise unofficial way http://tyneandwear.sky.com/news/article/54078/disabled-parking-fines-scam-gang-forced-to-pay-back-thousands0

Almost as good as the poster put up in the local Waitrose by Crimestoppers warning shoppers than scammers operate in this car-park
(It's to do with another scam which does happen in the car-park when someone trys to say they need money to pay for fuel/breakdown truck and will exchange worthless jewellery in exchange)0 -
That is cheap parking, .50p for an hour, not worth printing the ticket.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
