To understand your housing rights and to prevent eviction, do contact Shelter asap. They will tell you how to work with your social housing landlord to prevent repossession, how to set up a repayment schedule for the arrears and so on. Their website has good info on the process.

I'm maybe not as clued up on all the benefits as others but I'm wondering why one adult child gets Income Support, and Income support alone, as that's an unusual award.

I'm so sorry I meant JSA, that was an over-sight on my behalf probably because I was asking about income support and my heads in the shed at the moment

If you are on carer's allowance, you are entitled to claim Income Support in your own right, in acknowledgement of your caring duties. You may well find that you are better off if you reduce your hours and claim income support - even a small amount of income support would mean that your rent and council tax would be paid.

Being a carer is hard work, and you have two disabled people to care for, don't underestimate the effect that working full-time will have on your energy and ability to look after everyone.
