"We have identified a potential issue with your online account which we would like to bring to your attention.
It would appear that there has been some unauthorised access to your account. As soon as we were alerted of this potential issue your account was fully locked down whilst our IT team worked round the clock to investigate.
Our investigations are continuing but we have now been able to re-open your account. In order to access your account your password will need to be reset, you can do this via the following link ...
We will of course continue to investigate this matter to ensure that your account remains secure and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thankfully I haven't used the account for four years, so the payment card details are way out of date. I do make purchases in the actual shops still. The website is saying points total unavailable. Mmm.. does this translate to "some thieving beggar has dipped their fingers in our computer system and used up all your points"? Very annoyed at this breach of security.0 -
Sounds similar to what happened with Tesco Clubcard, there is a thread about it and you may find some useful tips on there (e.g. some people emailed CEO, others tried Facebook).
Also, more importantly, Tesco only fully acknowledged what was going on after MSE went public about it, and it ended up in the papers.
Hopefully if it has effected other people they will post here and MSE will take notice.

No they have done nothing. The person who's hacked the account has blocked my access by changing the username (email address) on the account. I would have been none the wiser if I hadn't received an email from GAME.co.uk thanking me for updating my details.
I don't know if they've stolen any of my game points, that was the OP. I guess I'll find out when they find it urgent enough to take a look at my account.
Exactly the same thing has happened to me and I couldn't get hold of anyone via the livechat yesterday ... The clickable link in the email doesn't work either

I got the same email..different email address on the 20th. Game have today admitted that yes indeed my account has been hacked and my game points stolen!!! Well DUH!!! I've been trying to tell you this for the last 6 days!!
We have identified a potential issue with your online account which we would like to bring to your attention.
It would appear that there has been some unauthorised activity on your account which has resulted in Reward points having been removed from your account, we are currently in the process of adding these points back. As soon as we were alerted of this issue your account was fully locked down whilst our IT team worked round the clock to investigate the matter.
Our investigations are continuing and in order to help us your online account has been fully locked down. As soon as our investigations are complete we will be immediately in touch to provide a further update.
